Our cooperation with China began over 20 years ago. We are currently present in China in both Shanghai (in partnership with the Bureau of Justice) and Beijing (in partnership with the University of Political Science and Law).
Opened the Sino-French Centre for Legal and Notarial Training and Exchanges (the “Centre”) with the Shanghai Bureau of Justice (http://www.cnfr-notaire.org/fr/index.htm). The University of Paris-Assas, the French Court of Cassation and the Caisse des dépôts are partners in this initiative.
New notarial law adopted in China after many discussions and training sessions, paving the way for the gradual creation of a modern notarial profession.
Opened the “L’Écrit, l’Homme et le Droit” exhibition at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Paris, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Shanghai Centre, in the presence of the Chinese Vice-Minister of Justice, the Chinese Ambassador for France and the Senior Presiding Judge of the French Court of Cassation. The exhibition was then displayed at French cultural institutes in China.

Opened a Secondary Office of the High Council of French Notariat (Conseil supérieur du notariat – CSN) at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, following closer ties with the university since 2010, to further our joint studies and research.
First Franco-Chinese conference on law and justice organised by the French Embassy and the Civil Law Initiative. We played an active role in the conference. It is held once a year and covers topics pertaining to civil law and environmental law.
Signed an agreement with the Chinese Association of Notaries, to coincide with Emmanuel Macron’s trip to Beijing in his capacity as the President of the French Republic. Objective: to develop a genuine, operational professional network to simplify formalities for businesses and expatriates.
Nicole Belloubet, the French Minister of Justice, visited our Centre in Shanghai, during Edouard Philippe’s trip to China in his capacity as Prime Minister. The Shanghai Bureau of Justice was also present. Ms Belloubet was the fifth French Minister of Justice to visit the Centre since it opened.
Held a dinner at our Parisian premises for the Chinese Minister of Justice, Mr FU Zenghua, as part of the first Franco-Chinese dialogue for justice, at which the legal and notarial landscape in China was discussed.
During the board, our president has been elected president of the Sino-French Centre for Legal and Notarial Training and Exchanges of Shanghai for a two-year-term.
